As Missoni’s official muse and newly-appointed accessories designer, Margherita Missoni is putting her eye for style to good use with the launch of her first capsule collection of handbags. Named after and inspired by a select group of Margherita’s closest friends, the five-piece collection has the signature Missoni aesthetic, with plenty of bohemian-luxe embellishments – think chain straps, pom-poms and an array of textures – and a colorful palette complete with the classic Missoni zig-zig print.
A crocodile, leather and suede patchwork bucket bag has a global-traveler aesthetic and is named the Euge (top left), after Eugenie Niarchos; matching mint-green printed bags, available as a shoulder bag or cross-body messenger bag are named the Coquine (top right) and Coco B (bottom left), after Coco Brandolini; a quilted forest green leather bag with a chain strap is named the LSD (bottom middle), after Lauren Santo Domingo; and, a chic red wool and lace carryall is named the Tats (bottom right), after Tatiana Santo Domingo.
The collection is available now at Missoni boutiques. The bags are priced between $1,275 and $3,140; the detachable Missoni pom-poms will cost you an extra $185.
