French actress Marion Cotillard adores Dior. As the current face of Dior’s Lady Dior advertising campaign, the Oscar-winner has donned many a Dior dress. Now, she’s putting her vocal chords to good use by teaming up with Franz Ferdinand for a Dior-commissioned song called “The Eyes of Mars.”
The track, which features Cotillard on vocals, was penned to celebrate the release of Dior’s new collection. It is also set to be the soundtrack for the forthcoming Dior commercial, in which Cotillard plays a working girl by day and a lounge singer by night. The commercial is part of the ‘Lady Rouge, New York’ campaign, which was shot by Annie Leibovitz.
Cotillard is also set to appear in Dior’s second short film, which was shot in Shanghai last month by David Lynch.
It seems that celebrities are becoming more and more involved with the companies that they promote. There is a school of thought that says celebrities should stick with what they know, but I love it: why should people stick with one career? What do you think?
