For the last five days, Milan Fashion Week has been chugging along nicely, with plenty of heavyweight brands—including (from left to right) Emilio Pucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, and Prada—showing their spring 2012 collections. As you can imagine, with major labels like these taking to the catwalk, there is plenty to discuss, so click inside to discover the scoop on all that has taken place at Milan Fashion Week so far!
At Emilio Pucci, the audience was treated to a gypsy theme with plenty of signature Pucci moments: a cropped lace cami was paired with a printed skirt, a halter dress had layers of sheer lace, while another dress slipped just off the shoulders, leaving a trail of rainbow behind it. Meanwhile, at the Dolce & Gabbana show, pieces were embellished with surprising prints that featured eggplants, hot peppers, tomatoes, and zucchinis, to start. Toward the end of the show, however, the audience saw plenty of the slinky cocktail dresses that we have come to know and love.
The Gucci show was not the first spring show to touch on the 1920s theme, but you can be sure that it will be one of the most talked about. Fringe-embellished flapper dresses, hand-held feather bouquets, and slinky sandals—all sure to have a red carpet moment during award season. Finally, at Prada, a sexy little collection with a sweet twist: figure-flattering sun dresses in pastel pink or blue, ruffled bandeau tops with matching pencil skirts, or pin-up style swimsuits that might need more than a poolside moment to get their due. Bellissimo!
