Before Milan Fashion Week officially wrapped up yesterday, the final days went off with a bang, with heavyweight brands such as (from left to right) Dsquared2, Giorgio Armani, Roberto Cavalli, and Gianfranco Ferré all showing their spring 2012 collections. Needless to say, there is plenty to discuss when major brands like these take to the catwalk, so click inside to discover the scoop on everything that took place during the final days of Milan Fashion Week.
At DSquared2, the audience was treated to a colorful flurry of pieces that instantly evoked thoughts of Kate Moss at a music festival: gypsy-inspired skirts, fox fur scarves, rain boots, plaid button downs, and cropped leather jackets. The only problem? By the time the rest of the world has access to these clothes, chances are Kate Moss will have moved on. At Giorgio Armani, the mood was decidedly different, but no less inspired. Structured gowns and cropped jackets, embellished with beads and crystals, look like they are a shoe-in for a red carpet moment at, say, Cannes.
The Roberto Cavalli show had all the color of the DSquared2, with a heavy dose of shimmer and shine. Drop-waist dresses were followed by glamorous pant suits, while smatterings of painterly rainbow prints and leopard-print popped up here and there. Finally, at Gianfranco Ferré, bright white separates—pleated trousers, silky blouses—looked amazing when paired with unembellished black accessories. And now, onto Paris!
