With a pedigree that includes an Oscar-nominated actress and a more-than-famous writer, it is no surprise that Dree Hemingway has hit the ground running, becoming one of the fashion world’s favorite models. With a style that embraces hippie chic and rocker cool all at once, Dree is quickly becoming a model muse to many. It’s time to move over Erin Wasson.

Dree had an early start in the world of celebrity. Her mother, Mariel Hemingway, is an actress who scored a nomination at the Oscars for Best Supporting Actress. Her great-grandfather, who she never met, is Ernest Hemingway, the Pulitzer and Nobel-prize winning writer. After growing up in California, Dree decided to leave high school to purse her modeling career.

Since then, Dree has signed with Elite Model Management in New York, Independent Models, and Ford Models Europe in Paris. She has done print campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch and DKNY and has walked the runway for Givenchy, Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel and House of Holland, all the while becoming a darling for street style photographers.

On the street, Dree’s style has an effortless, New York cool that girls like Mary Kate Olsen and Erin Wasson possess. From leather pants to flowing maxi dresses, Dree has that uncanny ability to surprise you at every turn, looking naturally stylish and chic without even trying. Her signature has always been her long, silky hair – whether it’s bleach blond or a darker, honey blond.

Whether you opt for a hippie-luxe version of Dree’s style, by going for a printed maxi dress, or you prefer her edgier side, choosing leather pants and grungy shirts, our model muse can show you how it’s done with ease.

Model Style: Dree Hemingway

Starting with denim, Dree obviously prefers to show off her skinny legs by wearing skinny jeans. From her faded, acid-wash pair (middle) with leather trim, to her darker blue pair (far right), skinny jeans will accent your legs to perfection. For a similar look, try Cheap Monday’s Special Edition Leather Patched Tight Skinny Jean ($84.99) or Siwy’s Rose Drain Pipe Skinny Jeans ($198).

As Dree has proven, the skinny jean is the perfect essential for your closet, a piece that can be used in any outfit and dressed up and down.

When it comes to keeping casual, Dree chose to pair her jeans with a plaid shirt, a boyfriend blazer, a simple pair of ballet flats and a chain-strap bag, for a look that is downtown cool. For a similarly stylish outfit, try this Blue Plaid Cotton Rolled Sleeve Shirt ($78) by Shirt by Shirt, paired with these Ballet Flats ($325) by Shoebox and the Stardust The Large Single Studded Leather Shoulder Bag ($650) by Marc Jacobs. For the final touch, add Juicy Couture’s Cropped Tuxedo Blazer ($198).

For a dressier look (middle), Dree paired her jeans with a faux fur coat, draped cardigan and peep-toe wedges. For a similar look, try Topshop’s Long Sleeve Cardigan ($40) and Ashish Platform Wedge ($310). Add Mango’s Striped Faux Fur Jacket ($134.28) to complete the look.

Similar to her denim + leather skinny jeans combo, Dree also has an inclination to go for all-leather skinny pants (second from left). For a similar rocker-chic style, we like Topshop’s Suede Panelled Skinny Trousers ($210) paired with the ballet flats we mentioned above. Add Forever21’s Striped LS Knit Tunic ($12.80) and Juicy Couture’s Cropped Denim Jacket ($99, reduced from $198). Layer underneath Karen Millen’s Wool Cape Coat ($271.96, reduced from $338.24).

When it comes to dresses, Dree doesn’t follow by any set rule, choosing maxi and mini varieties. Her bohemian side certainly came out when she attended the opening of Mango’s flagship store in New York’s SoHo district. For a similar look, we like this Mayan Aztec-Printed Silk Dress ($312, reduced from $520) by Leaves of Grass. Keep the accessories low-key to let the dress stand out.

Finally, if you are after a sophisticated-yet-edgy look, Dree’s blazer-and-dress combo (second from right) is the way to go. Try La Garçonne’s VPL Flex Foil Wrap Dress ($322.50, reduced from $645) with Kenna-T’s Pinstripe Boyfriend Blazer ($262) and Topshop’s Alexus Platform Chelsea Boot ($160).

She definitely has amazing style. I don’t know that much about her, but her style is everywhere. Looks like she’s fast becoming an icon and she deserves this title.
