Model Style: Karolina Kurkova

Confession: we have a major girl crush on Czech-born model Karolina Kurkova. After all, she has looks to die for, a body to kill for, and Anna Wintour pronounced her as the “next supermodel.” Of course, while these three details are important, the main motivation behind our crush is that Karolina has an enviable sense of personal style. Yes, dear readers, whether she is on the red carpet at Cannes, out and about in New York City, or attending a show in Moscow, Karolina always looks amazing, which is why she is the subject of today’s Model Style story. On that note, for the sartorial scoop on what Karolina wears and how she wears it, read on!

1. Earlier this year, in April, Karolina put together an amazing outfit for the opening of the Momenti di Emporio exhibit in New York City. Her button-down blouse, cropped blazer, and patent ankle boots are stylish, yes, but the focus of the outfit is her printed mini skirt. It is colorful, flattering, and a little glamorous. Importantly, by pairing the skirt with classic black and white pieces, Karolina has allowed the skirt to shine through and show off all its best qualities. If you are drawn to this look, pick up Equipment’s Signature Sleeveless Blouse ($188) and pair it with See by Chloé’s Printed Skirt ($117.25). Complete the look with Topshop’s Collarless Crop Jacket ($118) and Ascott Chelsea Boots ($150).

2. Although white jeans can be tricky to pull off, Karolina does it with ease. Case in point: in June, Karolina was spotted out and about in New York City wearing cropped white jeans, a sheer black tank, and simple silver sandals. By teaming her jeans with a black top, Karolina has created contrast without dulling the bright white denim. As for her silver sandals, they add to the summery vibe of the ensemble. To try this look for yourself, pick up Mother’s The Looker Jeans ($185) and pair them with Free People’s Sheer Tank ($48) and Lucky Brand’s Georgia Sandals ($19.99). If wide-leg jeans are more flattering on you, try J Brand’s Bailey Jeans ($165).

3. Back in March, Karolina attended a fashion show in Moscow, Russia wearing an off-white lace dress, a draped gray jacket, and pointy cream pumps. To put it simply, we love how versatile Karolina’s ensemble is. The lace dress and pumps have a glamorous vibe, which makes the outfit perfect for a dinner date or cocktail party. The utilitarian jacket, however, gives the ensemble a casual twist, making it just as perfect for a less formal event like a gallery opening. Inspired? Try this look by picking up A.L.C.’s Jagger Cotton-Blend Lace Dress ($395) or ASOS’s Salon Lace Shift Dress ($258.59). Then, add a jacket like Tsumori Chisato’s Linen Stretch Blazer ($370) for a cool twist.

4. Creating an outfit that keeps you warm and looks stylish can be complicated, but if you look to Karolina for inspiration, you will be just fine. For instance, earlier this year Karolina was spotted attending the Michael Kors show in New York City wearing a tweed blazer, beige trousers, strappy sandals, and a chunky knit scarf. We like the way Karolina has balanced slim silhouettes—specifically, her blazer and trousers—with chunky accessories. The result is an outfit that is as chic as it is cozy! To assemble a similarly stylish outfit, grab Max Studio’s Heather Tweed Blazer ($128) and Halston Heritage’s Slim Pants ($295). Then, simply add a knit scarf and your favorite platform sandals.
