Whether she is attending a fashion industry event, taking in a film festival party, or just spotted out and about, one thing is certain: Selita Ebanks has a knack for always looking perfectly put together. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that she is drop dead gorgeous and would look good in anything, but that would amount to nothing if she didn’t know how to create a seriously stylish outfit. That said, we just knew Selita was the perfect choice for our latest edition of Model Style, so if you love Selita’s style as much as we do, read on for all the details on what she wears and how she wears it!
1. If there is one thing we can say for certain about Selita, it is that she isn’t afraid to go bold. For proof, just look at the red leather dress she wore to the Art of Elysium event in Antibes, France, back in May. A dress like this takes plenty of confidence, yes, but by pairing it with nude pumps and minimal jewelry, Selita has balanced the boldness just a little—not enough, of course, that she won’t catch many an eye! If you find yourself drawn to this look, pick up Jitrois’s Belted Dress ($3,030) or Adam’s Tank Sundress ($278). Then, slip into a pair of BCBGeneration’s Tinas-Dalvin Platform Pumps ($89) and finish by adding Anya Jewels’ Drop-Hoop Earrings ($75).
2. Like many models, Selita doesn’t stick to one particular style. For instance, for the New York premiere of The Hangover 2, back in May, Selita channeled her softer side, wearing a lace blouse, a printed skirt, and peep-toe platform heels. There are many things we love about this ensemble, but in particular we like that it has a ladylike charm, but with a naughty twist, thanks to the sheer blouse. The result is a perfectly put-together outfit for the modern girl. Inspired? Make this look your own by picking up ASOS’s Heart-Print Midi Skirt ($64.03) and pairing it with Topshop’s Ivory Crop Lace Halter Blouse ($40). Then, simply add Steve Madden’s Demee Platforms ($149.95).
3. There is definitely an art to creating an outfit that is as casual as it is chic, but it is an art that Selita has mastered. Just last week, Selita attended the Glow Film Festival in New York wearing a gauzy printed skirt, a tied-at-the-waist denim button-down, and embellished sandals. The look is perfect for end-of-summer events, as it has the breeziness of a summer outfit, mixed with the panache of the perfect party ensemble. Ready to try this look for yourself? Start by grabbing Mara Hoffman’s Tea-Length Skirt ($328) or Free People’s Loving Fall Tea Length Skirt ($128) and pairing it with a tank, Topshop’s Fitted Denim Shirt ($60), and Sam Edelman’s Ginger Gladiator Flats ($69.90).
4. Menswear has never been so chic! Selita, naturally, managed to work the menswear look with flair when she attended a party in New York earlier this month wearing a white The Row suit. We love the way Selita has created such a bold look by using seemingly soft pieces. In addition, we love how her black heels add contrast to the overall ensemble. The result may be minimalist in essence, but it still packs plenty of punch. To assemble an equally chic look, pick up Elizabeth & James’ Emery Blazer ($395) and Lizzie Pants ($132.50) and pair them with Vanessa Bruno’s Sheer T-Shirt ($112.50). Complete the look with Guess’s Aland Heels ($54.95).
