NARS Cosmetics are set to launch their Summer 2010 cosmetics collection tomorrow, with model Amber Valletta once again fronting their ad campaign. For summer, NARS founder François Nars looked to Catherine Deneuve’s character in Belle De Jour, Sèverine, for inspiration: “Her character is beautiful and elegant. Her look is effortless – she has an incredible inner sophistication.”
The Summer 2010 collection has a decidedly summer-infused palette; dark bronze, bright turquoise, vivid coral and shimmery gold. “I designed the makeup to bring a natural-looking glow to the skin, while allowing women to have fun with color,” said Nars.
So what can you expect to pop up on the beauty radar this summer? The collection contains: two eyeshadows (a turquoise blue called Burn It Blue and a spicy brown called Cayenne); a lip gloss (a shiny brown called Coup De Coeur); a blush (a soft peach called Enchanted); two lipsticks (a guava called Love Devotion and an apricot called Lamu); and, a nail polish (a shimmering champagne called Versailles).
Prices for the Summer 2010 collection range from $16 for the nail polish to $38 for the lipstick. The collection will be available at NARS counter and online at NarsCosmetics.com tomorrow.
