It’s been award shows a plenty over these past few weeks, what with the BAFTA’s and the BRIT’s amongst others, but this week we also saw our favorite celebs out flaunting their true fashionista selves at the Elle Style Awards. Key looks seemed to be smart tailoring, classic black hues, some thigh-high splits with pops of pattern favored too.L-R Models Barbara Palvin, Daisy Lowe and Suki Waterhouse all favored smart tailored looks. Barbara Palvin opted for a longer-line jacket with hitched-up sleeves that added edginess. Her bright blue clutch added the perfect pop of color to her all-black ensemble that she glammed up with long loose locks and heeled pumps. Daisy Lowe chose a shorter-length tuxedo jacket and matching pants. She elegantly paired this with a smart sheer shirt, heeled sandals and a chic up-do. Suki Waterhouse went for a different angle on smart tailoring by pairing a sleek black maxi dress with a rather gorgeous berry-hued Burberry jacket. Her loose blonde curls added the perfect finishing touch.L-R Model Cara Delevingne’s cute kimono-style LBD showed a flash of her perfect pins, with dark eye makeup and long side-swept locks, she oozed style. Singer Lily Allen also opted for classic black in a Roland Mouret floor-length gown. She looked ultra-chic, with her quirky short fringe, adding edginess to her look. Singer Ellie Goulding chose a recently-debuted Matthew Williamson jumpsuit. Her effortlessly styled hair and neutral pallette ensured that the lightly-embellished jumpsuit got the full attention it deserved.L-R Singer Kylie Minogue’s cute strapless LBD with large bow and pleat detailing was a great choice for her petite figure. She paired it perfectly with simple black pumps and soft tousled waves. Actress Emma Watson worked quirkiness in a very unusual look from Giambattista Valli that comprised a sequinned crop top and over-sized bow detailing on the skirt. She toned down this bold but fun look with black pointed pumps, a simple up-do and classic red lips. Model Karolina Kurkova went for full on embellishment with a dazzling Fyodor Golan creation, emblazoned with feathers and sequins, and comprising a daring thigh-high split.L-R Singers Jessie J and Katy Perry and model Jourdan Dunn, brightened things up in bold pops of pattern. Jessie J made a statement in a bright pink cutout mini dress. She added further pattern to this Tom Ford creation with lace-up thigh-high boots. Katy Perry went all floral in a Vivienne Westwood number. Her cute curled bob added extra glamour and finesse to this rather retro-inspired look. Jourdan Dunn’s quite simple long-sleeved Tom Ford bodycon dress was made all the more special with its all-over jazzy monochrome print. Paired with edgy lace-up ankle booties she looked as though she had just stepped off the catwalk.L-R Singer Rita Ora went for full on glamour in a white full skirted Marchesa gown with lace bodice. She completed this fairy-tale look with slicked-back hair and her signature red lips. Model Arizona Muse also opted for a pale hue in a simple white laser-cut midi dress, which she stylishly paired with nude pumps, a cute box clutch and a glossy curled bob. Model Poppy delevingne went bold in a bright orange Emilia Wickstead ensemble, sporting an on-trend midriff look in a long-sleeved lace crop top and high-waisted midi skirt.
I’m loving the smart tailoring with a feminine twist creations that are a little bit of a welcome release from the more usual choice of floor-length gown. Which looks are you favoring?
