In the past, OPI has taken inspiration from India, Hong Kong, Britain and even South Beach. For its Holiday 2010 collection, the nail color brand is adding a European edge to its global traveler theme with the Swiss Collection, a 12-piece lineup inspired by Switzerland, natch. With a palette that runs the gamut from shades of red (the color of the Swiss flag) through to greens and blues through to metallic silver and gold, the collection is a nice line-up of “basic” colors.

Above, from left to right: I’m Suzi & I’m A Chocoholic is a chocolate creme; From A To Z-urich is a cherry red creme; Color So Hot It Berns is an orange-red creme; Just A Little Rösti At This is a cinnamon-red creme; William Tell Me About OPI is a dark aubergine creme; and, Ski Teal We Drop is a teal creme.

Above, from left to right: Diva Of Geneva is a vivid grape shimmer; Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous is a silver shimmer; Glitzerland is a gold shimmer; Yodel Me On My Cell is an ocean blue shimmer; The Color To Watch is a violet shimmer; and, Cuckoo For This Color is a Kelly green shimmer.

A 4-piece mini collection, dubbed Irre-Swiss-Ables, will also be available. The mini set will include Color So Hot It Berns, Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous, Yodel Me On My Cell and a clear top coat.

The OPI Swiss Collection launches on August 1 at salons, spas and chains including Ulta and JC Penney. Each lacquer retails for around $8.50.
