This week: I am looking for a comfortable, casual-yet-stylish hat to wear—for spring/summer, or anytime—that will widen my face. I have a large forehead and very small chin and I would like to make my face look wider and less long! Could you please clue me in to the types of hats I should be looking for and the online stores that carry them? – Anna.
Hi Anna. Finding the right hat for your face shape is definitely tricky, but it isn’t impossible! Because your face is longer than it is wide, you should look for a hat with a full brim. In addition, you should avoid hats with high crowns, as these will only serve to make your face look long and narrow. One of our favorite hat brands is Eugenia Kim. The brand makes hats for every face shape and size, but for you, we would recommend checking out the Honey collection—including the Honey Felt Floppy Hat ($116), the Honey Boho Floppy Hat ($106), and the Honey Toyo Sunhat ($275). If you’re looking for something a little more budget-friendly, try Aqua’s Felt Floppy Hat ($24) or Catarzi’s Floppy Hat ($34) (pictured). Good luck!
