It has long been a dream of mine that one day I will be able to purchase a Chanel bag; a quilted, black Jumbo Classic to be precise. Although I don’t have the funds, if I did, I sometimes wonder where I would start. A purchase in that realm does not make me want to head to Ebay, so what next? Apparently, Portero Luxury.
I discovered Portero Luxury a few weeks ago when they partnered with FabSugar and PurseBlog to give away a Hermès Birkin, the It Bag. Portero Luxury’s modus operandi is to offer the world ‘premium, pre-owned, prized’ authenticated luxury goods. Meaning Chanel, Hermès and more; all bona fide.
Recently, Portero Luxury launched a new vintage category, with the aim to further distinguish the site as a ‘source for unique, rare and one-of-a-kind luxury goods’. If you’re looking for something a little more special, this is your go-to category.
Currently, the vintage category contains an extremely rare, Hermès Vintage Black Shiny Porosus Crocodile Horsebit Shoulder Bag. If you have $11,995 to spare, it’s yours. Not quite in your price range? For significantly less, you can grab a Vintage Black Leather 3 Pocket Tote Bag by Bottega Veneta, for just $160. Unfortunately for moi, the Chanel Jumbo Classic is $3,725 away.
Although all the goods in the vintage category are available for purchase, Randi Molofsky, the chief curator at Portero Luxury, expects that a large number of the items will be sought after by editors and stylists looking for hard-to find and rare items. “We’ve chosen a wide array of unusual pieces, ranging from fine and costume jewelry from the 1920s and beyond to classic timepieces and exotic skin handbags from noted brands,” Molofsky said. Why do we suddenly feel like Rachel Zoe’s jewelry collection is about to grow?
