Prada Print Collection

For some, looking at the past is the only way forward. While that might not be the rule of thumb for Prada, they are reworking some of their best-loved prints, taken straight from the archives, with this spring’s Prada Print Collection, a one-outfit look with plenty of panache.

In stores in May, the Prada Print Collection was inspired by a single outfit from the 1950s: a flared, fitted-at-the-waist dress, a pair of delicate ballet flats and a quilted handbag with a chain strap. Using these single silhouettes, each piece is then recreated in a series of different fabrics – from cotton to silk – and then splashed with a print referenced from the Prada archives.

The best part? A piece from this must- have Prada collection will cost you less than $1,000; the dresses are priced between $650 and $725 and the ballet flats will set you back $360. Not bad for a piece of vintage-inspired Prada. The entire collection hits stores mid-May.
