The 2013 Red Carpets were packed with beautiful looks, from gorgeous gowns to amazing makeup. Hair was also (as always) a major focus, and most styles were sleek, sophisticated, and soft. Here are four of our favorite looks, as well as the key ingredient behind the creation of each look.
Zooey Deschanel, 2013 Emmy Awards
The New Girl star did not stray far from her signature bangs-and-long-hair look, however she did make sure there was tons of body, and a few thick curls, cascading around her shoulders. Pantene’s Volume Collection, especially when you start out with the Volume Shampoo and Conditioner, will give hair that full, bodified bounce.
Emily Blunt, 2013 Golden Globe Awards
Emily Blunt kept it sweet and simple with her beautiful ballerina bun. According to Modernsalon.com, Emily’s stylist added Moroccanoil’s Volumizing Mousse and Hydrating Cream to her damp hair to add texture and definition, before letting the hair dry and pulling it up into a bun.
Jaimie Alexander, 2013 SAG Awards
The sexy side bun was one of this year’s “it” looks, and Jaimie Alexander pulled hers off beautifully at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The key to this look is texture, which is why you need a heavy duty teasing brush or comb to give the hair serious body that will stay in place once it’s pulled to the side and set.
Amanda Seyfried, 2013 Golden Globes
These long, luscious, loose curls framed Amanda’s face perfectly, and also looked so effortless. Which is more or less true—all you need is straight or blown out hair, and a 1 ½ inch curling iron to get the look. The bigger the barrel, the bigger and looser the curl will be.
