Rodarte are on a roll. Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the sisters behind the Rodarte label, have translated their creative aesthetic into a limited edition collection of men’s wear for Opening Ceremony.
The four-sweater collection, which consists of two crewnecks and two cardigans, has Rodarte’s signature spiderweb weave and dark, mysterious color scheme. Each piece is priced at $2,760 – a hefty chunk of money for the man in your life.
The sweaters are part of a “holiday package” that the Mulleavy sisters created for Opening Ceremony after Humberto Leon, the co-founder of Opening Ceremony with Carol Lim, told the sisters that he wanted a men’s Rodarte sweater. Leon added that the men’s wear items have been “selling fast,” but would not reveal further details.
If you are interested in a Rodarte sweater for the man in your life, you better get in quick. Unfortunately, Rodarte do not plan to venture further into the men’s wear sector. “There are no plans for any other Rodarte men’s wear items at this time,” Brian Phillips, a Rodarte spokesman, told WWD.
