I have been a fan of Australian label Sass & Bide since their early days but for the past few seasons, my interest has waned in the label as I felt they’re aesthetic was getting stale. Happily, my love of the label was revived thanks to their Fall 2010 collection which was shown at London Fashion Week.
Although they did draw on some of their signature cuts – like the bustier neckline and sharp-shouldered blazer – they did so with aplomb, putting together a collection that was as confident and bold as their very first collections way back when.
Several of the pieces featured an updated version of the tribal-chic trend we saw for Spring 2010 but nothing about this collection felt obsolete to me. Instead, it felt fresh and recharged, the Sass & Bide I once loved.
