Seasonal Style: Kate Bosworth

Although, here at Mama’s A Rolling Stone headquarters, we are in the midst of transitioning from winter to spring, we know that plenty of our readers are making the move from summer to fall. Accordingly, we are pleased to present a much-needed installment of Seasonal Style—our dose of style inspiration for girls in every part of the world. Today’s subject? Kate Bosworth, the gorgeous actress known for her minimalist yet muse-worthy personal style. So, whether you are preparing your summer wardrobe, or looking for style ideas for the cold winter ahead, read on to take your cues from Kate Bosworth.

Spring
Last April, Kate was spotted out and about in West Hollywood wearing a slouchy cream sweater, a dusty-pink floral dress, and a pair of charcoal Isabel Marant ankle boots. We love Kate’s ensemble for two reasons: not only does it stay true to her low-key aesthetic, but the layered effect is perfect for fickle spring days. To tackle Kate’s spring style, start by layering Topshop’s Stitch Detail Tabbard Slouchy Top ($70) over Free People’s Desert Rose Corset Dress ($89.95). Then, simply add a pair of River Island’s Safina Ankle Cowboy Boots ($116.53).

Summer
By late June, summer had arrived, the weather in Los Angeles was undoubtedly balmy, and Kate was spotted out and about in Hollywood in a breezy sun dress and lace-up sandals. Kate’s ticks all the right boxes for summer. Bright colors and bold prints? Check! A just-throw-it-on-and-go vibe? Check! Effortless accessories? Check! To put together a similarly stylish ensemble, pick up Shoshanna’s Tahitian Floral Halter Dress ($231) or Forever 21’s Tribal Strap Back Dress ($11.50). To finish, pair it with Kate’s exact sandals—Joie’s Picasso Lace-Up Moccasins ($169)—or try Joie’s Leo Cutout Sandals ($255).

Fall
In November, Kate was once again spotted out and about in Los Angeles. Her outfit for the day? A chunky knit cardigan, a pair of faded skinny jeans, and taupe Isabel Marant boots. As always, Kate’s outfit stays true to her understated boho vibe, but the best part is how easy and effortless this look really is. To do as Kate does and step into fall in style, pair Ecote’s Intarsia Open Cardigan ($29.99) or Forever 21’s Chunky Knit Cardigan ($32.90) with Rugby’s Super-Skinny Jeans ($98). Complete your outfit with Ash’s Iman Chain Detail Boots ($144).

Winter
Although Los Angeles has a moderate climate, Kate cannot escape the cold days of winter. In January, Kate attended the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, wearing an oversized sweater, thick skinny pants, and chunky biker boots. We love the understated yet stylish vibe of Kate’s ensemble—it is perfect for traveling. To give Kate’s winter style a spin, pair Rag & Bone’s Chunky Pullover ($195) with Vero Moda’s Super Skinny Stretch Cord Pants ($43.03). Then, tie Forever 21’s Tie Dye Scarf ($12.80) around your neck and finish with Jeffrey Campbell’s Brit Wrap Strap Booties ($230).
