Shades of the Season: Fall’s Richest Nail Hues

Hello, Autumn! We’re super excited for the boots, the big cozy sweaters and of course, the beauty. And today we’re focusing on nails. From sexy deep reds to playful metallic mixes, we’ve pulled together our 12 favorite shades for fall 2013.

Tom Ford Beauty in Bordeaux Lust, $32
Glossy, shiny, and all-over gorgeous, this polish is formulated with bendable coating, which means long-lasting, chip-free color.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in Jezebel, $18
Marc Jacobs’ newly launched beauty line does not disappoint, and the Hi-Shine Lacquers have an unbelievable finish — there’s no way not to be noticed in this sexy red shade.

JinSoon Tibi Fall Collection Nail Lacquer in Jasper, $18
JinSoon produced a beautiful set of nail polish shades for thier Fall 2013 collaboration with Tibi. If you’re looking for a rich burgundy color with just a hint of sparkle, Jasper is right up your alley.

Deborah Lippmann Limited Edition Nail Polish in Rolling in the Deep, $17
This midnight blue shade, which is part of Lippmann’s Fall 2013 “Jewel Heist” Collection, is so dark, you can barely see the shimmering particles inside. But they’re there, and when they occasionally catch a certain light, the blue moon effect is simply stunning.

Zoya Nail Polish in Sailor, $8
A classic, navy blue shade, this polish can be sported with almost any neutral outfit. It’s blue but not “too blue.” Just enough to make a simple —but eye-catching — navy color statement.

OPI San Francisco Nail Lacquer Collection in Keeping Suzi at Bay, $9
OPI’s Fall 2013 collection is inspired by San Francisco, and this cobalt blue hue is most definitely reminiscent of the deep blue waters that surround the city.

JinSoon Tibi Fall Collection Nail Lacquer in Epidote, $18
Also part of the fall collab with Tibi, Epidote is a metallic green shade that has a really cool, light-reflecting finish. The tone shifts ever so slightly under different light, in the most marvelous, chameleon-esque way.

Essie For the Twill of It, $8
It’s almost impossible to truly describe this all-mixed-up metallic color, which has a medium brown base combined with a reflective green shimmer. You never know quite what you get when you put it on, except for a fabulous, fashionable statement nail.

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Color in Alcheimie, $27
Chanel’s olive-green metallic shade, with its warm tone and shimmering gold specks, make it a knockout, notice-my-nails color.

China Glaze Autumn Nights in Charmed I’m Sure, $4
Just as “Autumn Nights” is a great name for China Glaze’s Fall 2013 collection, this deep, creamy polish is the perfect purple for a crisp, chilly season.

NARS Opaque Nail Polish in Fury, $19
It’s described as a “regal purple”, which is pretty much right on the money. The shade is pigment-rich, super shiny and, like all of NARS’ Opaque Polishes, totally streak-less when carefully applied.

MAC Nail Lacquer in Rebel, $16
More of burgundy-toned plum than a proper purple, Rebel is an awesome shade if you can’t decide between wearing a deep red or a purple pop. This color is like a combo of the two, so — boom! — problem solved.
