There is something about sportswear-inspired clothing that is just perfect for summer, which is probably why the latest summer 2011 collection from J Crew looks so wearable. Modeled by Tasha Tilberg, the collection features a ton of smart separates with soft silhouettes. (On a side note, some of the pieces were created by Israeli-born designer Nili Lotan as part of J Crew’s In Good Company program.) Key pieces include a pleated tennis skirt, a slouchy striped sweater, a long white shirt dress, a pair of cropped gray loose-fit pants, a shiny anorak, a khaki button-down shirt, and a pair of lightweight leather shorts. The color palette is spot-on for summer, also—you will find mostly neutrals, like white and tan, with a dash of bright tangerine for good measure. You can check out the entire collection now at JCrew.com.
