Street Chic

When it comes to fashion, there are plenty of places to find inspiration—on the red carpet, on the runways, and everything that falls in between—but sometimes it can all feel a little inaccessible to the everyday girl. Happily, our regular Street Chic story is aimed at remedying that problem—not only does it showcase the style tricks and fashion trends that are sweeping the globe, but the inspiration comes courtesy of real girls, just like you! On that note, we suggest you sit back and get inspired by our latest edition of Street Chic! Read on!

1. There was an abundance of subtly sexy sheer pieces on the spring runways. If you were looking for a way to translate the look into your everyday life, make sure you look to Charlie May, from London, for inspiration. By composing an all-black look with a sheer panel—on the back of her blouse, no less—Charlie May has given her outfit an effortlessly chic twist. To try this look, pick up Silence & Noise’s Zip Back Tank Top ($39) or Theyskens’ Theory’s Chris Top ($250) and pair it with Pleasure Doing Business’s Bandage Miniskirt ($99) and Steve Madden’s Vaku Ankle Boots ($81.92). To check out more of Charlie May’s personal style, head to A La Mode.

2. This outfit, by Femi, who lives in Amsterdam, instantly caught our eye thanks to its smart mix of bold stripes and bright colors. Such a mix is tricky to pull off, but if you do as Femi has done, and stick to just a few key colors—such as cobalt blue and neon pink, with a base of black and white—you too can create a colorfully chic ensemble! To start, pick up Michael Antonio’s Gezana Wedges (64.95) and Kate Spade’s Bright Evangeline Bag ($395). Then, simply style them with your favorite black tee and Brigitte Bailey by Pour La Victoire’s Patrice Skirt ($51). To check out more of Femi’s personal style, head to Breakfast At Fayme’s.

3. As you know, the whirling, whimsical and sometimes decadent style of the 1970s is everywhere this season, which is just one of the many reasons we love this ensemble by Minnie, who lives in Los Angeles. Not only is she trying one of the must-have silhouettes of the decade—the peasant dress—but she has given it a modern twist by pairing it with chunky wedges. To craft an equally chic ensemble, pick up Odylyne’s Printed Oversized Peasant Dress ($348). Then, simply grab a pair of Sam Edelman’s Kellan Wedges ($224.95) or Dolce Vita’s Pascal Wedge Booties ($88) and you are ready to go. To check out more of Minnie’s personal style, head to The Stylish Wanderer.
