Street Chic

Depending on where you are in the world, your local weatherman might be predicting an onslaught of rain, or perhaps a surge of warm weather. Happily, your fashion forecast is a little clearer. Yes, dear readers, with summer just around the bend for most of us, it is time to take a low-key approach to fashion—whether that means opting for easy, breezy pieces, toning downy your beauty regime, or sticking to the tried-and-true combo of sun dresses and sandals. On that note, we’re pleased to present our latest Street Chic story—not only is it chock full of fresh outfit inspiration to see you through summer in style, but said inspiration comes courtesy of real girls, just like you! Ready? Read on!

Anna Katrina
The spring runways were jam-packed with mid-length skirts and they have been popping up on the streets and on fashion blogs ever since. We love the way Anna Katrina, who lives in Boston, has chosen a mid-length skirt with an asymmetrical hemline. By opting for a surprising silhouette, Anna Katrina has instantly elevated her look from simple to standout. Plus, by adding chunky ankle boots, she has lengthened the leg and made her ensemble all the more flattering. Inspired? Pick up Anna Katrina’s exact skirt—the Long Tail Skirt ($38) from Nasty Gal—or try Cheap Monday’s Bonnie Asymmetric Skirt ($70). Finish off by adding a pair of Steven By Steve Madden’s Destined Ankle Boots ($94.90). To check out more of Anna Katrina’s personal style, head to Passport Glamour.

Sara
Although many will argue that there are no rules when it comes to fashion, one guideline we do follow is to never show too much skin. Accordingly, we love this outfit by Sara, who hails from Pembroke Pines in Florida. She has combined two modern looks—cropped tops and maxi skirts—to create an on-trend ensemble with just a hint of skin! The look is subtly sexy and oh-so-chic. To create a similarly stylish look, start by picking up All Saints’s Milla Top ($125) or We The Free’s Lacey Crop Muscle Tee ($48) and pairing it with Style Stalker’s Fish Tail Maxi Skirt ($166.19). Complete your look by adding a statement accessory like House of Harlow 1960’s Leather & Suede Cuff ($174). To check out more of Sara’s personal style, head to Fake Empire.

Helena
This ensemble, by Helena, who lives in New York City, instantly caught our eye thanks to its bold mix of prints. As you know, mixing prints can be tricky, so make sure to take style cues from Helena and follow a few simple rules. Firstly, stick to a simple color palette such as black and white. Then, add a statement accessory in a bright solid color. The result? Print perfection! If you are ready to craft your own bold look, pick up Free People’s Strappy Cami ($38) or Joie’s Polka Dot Hazel Tank ($83) and pair it with Forever 21’s Striped A-Line Skirt ($17.80). Then, simply grab ASOS’s Covered Lock Clutch ($27.70) and you are ready to go! To check out more of Helena’s personal style, head to Brooklyn Blonde.
