Style Spy: Couture Week

Thanks to a calendar packed with show-stopping dresses and major style statements, there is never a dull moment when Couture Week takes place in Paris. And although we are always mesmerized with what takes place on the runway, we are just as awe-struck with what takes places off the runway—specifically, what the stars are wearing! On that note, we have rounded up four of our favorite outfits from Couture Week to inspire you—because, after all, even if you can’t attend, you deserve a moment of your own! So, sit back and prepare to be inspired by today’s Style Spy stars!

Milla Jovovich
Milla Jovovich is always one to watch and she didn’t disappoint with the outfit she wore to Chanel’s show. We think her gold-specked skirt and embellished belt are to die for, but we particularly love the way she paired them with a simple white tank. By doing so, Milla has given the outfit a touch of personality. Bonus: her casually chic outfit easily transitions from day to night. If Milla’s outfit caught your eye, try picking up Just Cavalli’s Pencil Skirt ($120) or Elie Tahari’s Cindy Skirt ($222) and pairing it with Alexis Kady’s Burnout Pocket Tank ($25.50). Complete the look with Isola Ibera’s King Heels ($149.95).

Katie Holmes
As you can see, an all-black ensemble doesn’t have to be boring. For proof, just look at the outfit Katie Holmes wore to the Armani Privé show. By picking sophisticated separates like a button-down blouse and tailored trousers, Katie has created a sleek and chic look that is unquestionably modern. Her snakeskin peep-toe heels add an edgy twist to the outfit. Inspired? You can put together a similarly smart outfit by pairing Diane von Furstenberg’s Jafar Top ($265) or Madewell’s Silk Bromley Blouse ($79.50) with ASOS’s Jet Pocket Slim Cropped Pants ($68.96). Then, simply add Calvin Klein’s Lenora Pumps ($129).

Olivia Palermo
Olivia Palermo is a master at mixing bold colors and bright prints, which is often a welcome departure from the sea of black at fashion shows. For the Stephane Rolland show, Olivia wore a floral shift dress, purple pumps, a purple bag, and a statement necklace. By tempering the bright floral print with a classic shift silhouette, Olivia has created a chic ensemble with a fun, summery vibe. To emulate Olivia’s girly ensemble, grab Paul & Joe Sister’s Short Dress ($155) or River Island’s Abstract Floral Shift Dress ($36.20). Then, simply add a pair of Cesare Paciotti’s Platform Pumps ($402) and Rachel Roy’s Gold Lattice Collar Necklace ($65).

Gaia Repossi
Last, but certainly not least, we turn to jewelry designer Gaia Repossi for inspiration on how to create the perfect high/low ensemble for couture week. For the Chanel show, Gaia paired a luxe Chanel jacket with blue skinny jeans and satin pumps. The result is an ultra-chic look that easily transitions from the Chanel show to a late dinner to an even later after-party. To put together a similarly stylish look, pair DKNY’s Metallic Tweed Mirrored Trim Jacket ($448.80) or J Crew’s Platinum Tweed Jacket ($475) with your favorite skinny jeans. Finish with a pair of Sam Edelman’s Portney Satin Platform Pumps ($120).
