Taylor Jacobson has been moving onwards and upwards since leaving Rachel Zoe Inc in November 2009. Her latest career move is collaborating with Kasil Denim on a new denim line, “The Workshop by Kasil.” Taylor has designed a skinny jean – The Minx – for the line.
Kasil’s creative director David Lim met with Taylor soon after she left Rachel Zoe. He realized early on that they shared similar views when it came to denim. “As soon as we met, we found the one thing we have in common is the same idea as far as how we would like the overall jean to look – which is clean, classic, no bells and whistles, just really simple,” David said.
Taylor and David started brainstorming ideas and came up with The Minx, a super-skinny jean with a stretchy fit. “I really like the ultra skinny; narrow through the leg, very fitted in the knee, not a big opening at all,” Taylor says. The Minx ($168) will feature four different washes and several unique details, including leather threading on the pockets.
David and Taylor plan to continue the collaboration. They will expand the denim line, and also intend to include dresses and jackets.
If you ever watched The Rachel Zoe Project, you will know that Taylor was an expert on dressing for her shape, so you can rest assured that these jeans will be cut to perfection. What do you think of the collaboration so far? Would you buy a pair of Taylor’s Minx jeans?
