The Lady Gaga Comic

If you need further proof that the world is going gaga for Lady Gaga, here it is: in May, Bluewater Productions will release a new line of comics entitled FAME and Lady Gaga is set to star in the first issue. As well as gracing the cover, the first feature will focus on Lady Gaga’s many successes. Unfortunately, we will not get to see Comic Gaga fighting aliens or giant robots.

The FAME series will chronicle the lives of celebrities and is set to feature several other pop-culture icons, including Robert Pattinson, 50 Cent, and Taylor Swift. Bluewater president Darren G. Davis has pointed out that the purpose of FAME is to broaden the scope of comic readers. The first issue in the new series will hit stands on May 5, 2010.

Strangely or not – it is Gaga, after all – this isn’t the first time Lady Gaga has made a foray into the comic world. In late 2009, Marc Jacobs stores became the exclusive retailers of the Lady Saga comic book collection. Lady Saga, with her ‘fashionable wit,’ poked fun at such visionaries as Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.

So, obviously Lady Gaga is definitely a force to be reckoned with. As we mentioned last week, she has also just signed on as the new creative director at Polaroid! Is it all too much or do you think we should just enjoy the Gaga ride while it lasts?

I think it’s great that she’s doing this and the Polaroid venture even before a clothing line. She could clearly go in that direction but the fact that she is doing these things now speaks to who she is too. She’s got the momentum so she may as well take advantage of that now and I’m all for it! She seems like she works hard and is always challenging herself and can actually sing so I’m on her side! xo, mel

Oh no. It would have been really cool for her to be fighting off robots, vampires, aliens etc.
