Photographer and blogger Todd Selby is set to release his first book, The Selby Is In Your Place, in May 2010. The Selby Is In Your Place was born from Selby’s website, TheSelby.com, which features portraits of ‘interesting people’ – from authors to musicians to designers – in their home environments.
Selby has spent years traveling the world, with his photographs appearing in British Vogue, Dazed & Confused and Nylon Magazine, to name a few. In order to distribute his work to a wider audience, he created TheSelby.com. The website was born out of a natural curiosity on Selby’s part; he wanted to discover how personal style was reflected in private spaces.
Since launching The Selby, readers have been privy to the homes of a varied, eclectic group of subjects, such as Barneys creative director Simon Doonan, model Erin Wasson and editor-in-chief of Purple Fashion, Olivier Zahm. The Selby has featured homes as far and wide as New York, Paris, Tokyo, Sydney and London.
The Selby Is In Your Place will feature over thirty never-before-seen profiles that have been selected exclusively for the book. Each profile will be accompanied by Selby’s watercolor portraits and illustrated questionnaires, which have Selby has asked each subject to fill out since the beginning of the site.
