Top Buys: Cool Shades

Whether summer has unofficially or officially begun, we can all agree that it is time to start putting together a summer shopping plan. With that in mind, one of the first things we always treat ourselves to when summer rolls around is a new pair of sunglasses—or two! On that note, let us welcome you to a special edition of Top Buys! Yes, we have rounded up six cool pairs of shades and we are just positive that you will find something to love inside because there is definitely something for everyone in today’s story. Ready, set, shop!

Polka Dot Cat Eye Sunglasses ($21) by ASOS
Why we like it: These sunglasses are unashamedly retro thanks to an ever-flattering cat-eye silhouette and a smattering of bold polka dots—and this is something we always find hard to resist. In addition, they are categorically budget-friendly—another thing we can never say no to. We would wear them with a flared black-and-white sun dress and wedges.

Colorblock Extreme Cat-Eye Sunglasses ($10) by Urban Outfitters
Why we like it: These sunglasses definitely live up to their name. Not only do they feature some heavy colorblock contrasting—you can choose between a yellow/aqua pair and an orange/green pair—but they have an extreme cat-eye silhouette. In other words, don’t wear these unless you are prepared to receive plenty of attention.

Heart Sunglasses ($18) from Pixie Market
Why we like it: We love the idea of a heart-shaped silhouette, but we don’t want to evoke thoughts of Lolita, which is why we love these shades. The metal silhouette and bronze lenses give them a tough twist, which helps to balance out the girly shape and make them feel more bohemian, less Nabokov.

Loren Shades ($40) by Quay
Why we like it: What can we say? There is really no denying that a pair of bright pink shades is the ultimate way to change up your summer wardrobe, not to mention any ensemble you pair them with. They stand out and they are fun, plus they can be worn with just about anything.

Cat Eye Glitter Sunglasses ($390) by Miu Miu
Why we like it: For us, these sunglasses tick all the right boxes. Flattering silhouette? Check! Sophisticated feel? Check! Fun color with a glam twist? Check! Check! Yes, it is safe to say we can’t resist these shades. What would we wear them with? A colorful maxi dress and a pair of flat strappy sandals.

Butterfly Glam Sunglasses ($325) by Marc Jacobs
Why we like it: While we love a good cat-eye, there are days when nothing beats a classic oversized silhouette. Of course, Marc Jacobs rarely lets anything rest at classic. Instead, these sunglasses are balanced with a pop of bubblegum pink and spearmint green, making them perfect for sunny summer days by the pool.
