Top Buys: Fall Bags

While putting together the right clothing is important, we believe that it is your accessories that will ultimately pull your outfit together. After all, what is a great dress if it isn’t paired with statement heels, amazing jewelry, and a chic bag? That said, we couldn’t help but notice that there are oodles of amazing handbags and clutches on the market right now, which brings us to today’s Top Buys story. Yes, we have rounded up seven must-have bags that we are sure will have you reaching for your debit card. Ready? Read on to discover our faves!

When shopping for handbags, we always like to keep key events in mind. For instance, with party season just around the corner, we have been keeping our eye out for cute clutches and glam mini bags that will make for perfect party accessories. Our favorites? We adore Emily Cho’s Printed Calf Skin Envelope Clutch ($475). Not only is it on-trend—colorful python-print is having a major moment right now—but it is guaranteed to make a statement when paired with a little black dress and some killer heels. We are similarly smitten with Kate Spade’s Gold Coast Juliana Bag ($325). The quilted fabric and chain strap are chic embellishments, and because it is black, it will go with just about everything. We have also been eyeing Madewell’s Petite Briefcase Bag ($118). It is a little larger than your average evening bag, but it has a utilitarian vibe that will nicely balance out a sequined dress or something similar.

Of course, party season isn’t the only thing on our mind. On the contrary, we always like to add a few on-trend day bags to our stash, as well as an investment piece here and there. This season, we have noticed that jewel-toned bags have been popping up everywhere—on the runways, on the streets, and on the red carpet. With that in mind, we set out in search of a jewel-toned bag to call our own. The result? We love Ted Baker’s Briefcase Lock Cross-Body Bag ($231.81). We love the faux ostrich-skin texture and gold hardware almost as much as we love the rich amethyst-colored leather. Zara’s City Bag ($169) is another gem. It has an oversized silhouette, perfect for storing everything that the modern girl-on-the-go needs, plus a chic carry-handle. Now, if you are looking for something that will last forever, there are options for you too! We think Yves Saint Laurent’s Softy Chyc Animal-Print Calf Hair Shoulder Bag ($1,995) is a stellar option. After all, leopard-print never goes out of style and neither does a YSL handbag. Finally, if you want something less classic, more right now, make sure you check out Proenza Schouler’s Medium Book Bag ($1,525). The silhouette and black leather trim give it a timeless touch, but the southwest print? Oh-so modern. Happy shopping!
