Top Buys: Fall Coats

It is official, ladies. The summer sun has faded away and fall has arrived, which means you probably have plenty on your mind—whether that means a new beauty regime, the search for the perfect pair of boots, or a brand new coat. If the latter matter is weighing on your mind, we are pleased to report that your style search will be easy this year. In today’s Top Buys story, you will find a slew of amazing coats, with options for girls of every style! On that note, click through to check out our entire fall coat guide and make sure you take notes as today’s story has plenty to offer!

Now, if you follow the Rachel Zoe school of thought and you love yourself some fur, we are pleased to report that we have a slew of options for you. To start, we simply can’t resist the allure of Reiss’s Ivana Faux Fur Coat ($555). Not only do we love the 1970s, Penny Lane-inspired vibe of this coat, but we love that it is faux fur. After all, there is nothing better than looking fashion-forward and being forward-thinking. We are equally intrigued by Motel’s Freya Faux Fur Coat ($138). The beautiful emerald-green hue on this coat instantly evokes thoughts of Gucci’s fall 2011 collection, but with a friendlier price tag! Finally, if you want to try the fur look but you don’t want to go all-out, make sure you check out Rachel Zoe’s Betty Coat ($550). The silhouette is super-flattering, it has a hood for those extra-chilly days, and only the hem and hood are trimmed with fur. This coat makes such a statement, we would be inclined to make it the focus of our outfit and forget the dress we wore underneath!

If you would prefer a coat of the non-fur variety, we have plenty of pieces for you to pick from and they all have one particular theme in common: extra details that may surprise you, whether it is an interesting print or a bright color. Take, for instance, Free People’s Retro Tapestry Coat ($198). The embroidery gives it a boho-chic vibe that is hard to say no to, but we also love the way this coat instantly elevates a little black dress from simple to stand-out. If you want to turn heads, make sure you check out Mango’s Empire Coat ($199.90). The bright pink fabric is a nice way to add a pop of color to your life, especially during dreary fall days. If you want something that feels classic but is anything but common, make sure you check out Alexa Chung for Madewell’s Bin Man Coat ($325) and Burberry Prorsum’s Wool Tweed Trench Coat ($2,795). Both pieces have timeless silhouettes, but offer up a unique spin. In the case of the Alexa Chung for Madewell coat, it is a series of leather patches that will definitely make you look twice. In the case of the Burberry coat, it is the almost-neon orange piping along the edge of the coat. Finally, a camel coat is always a stylish addition to a closet, but we particularly like ASOS’s Pleated Coat ($148.41). The leopard trim gives it a little something extra, but doesn’t take away from the understated aesthetic. Happy shopping!
