Under $100: Summer Dresses

If you are anything like us here at Mama’s A Rolling Stone, your summer shopping list is probably overwhelmed with ideas, which means, in turn, your budget is most likely stretched to the limit. Happily, if you are on the hunt for a cute summer dress—or two!—we have scouted out a cornucopia of options and we’re pleased to report that they are all under $100! Yes, dear readers, whether you opt for a cool cotton tee dress, a bohemian sun dress, or a classic colorblock dress, you are sure to find something that suits your style and your budget! Read on!

Like many modern girls, you probably have a summer calendar jam-packed with fun events. Our advice? Consider your calendar while you flick through these budget-friendly dress buys—after all, you want to make sure you have an appropriate dress in mind for every occasion. For instance, if you are planning on jet-setting to an exotic location this summer for a mini-vacation, you should definitely check out the Electric Dress ($62) at Pixie Market—it is perfect for window shopping, people watching, and cocktail hour at the hotel bar. On the other hand, if you are thinking about taking a cross-country road trip, we suggest you take a look at Topshop’s Multi Strappy Gypsy Smock Dress ($75). It has a vagabond vibe that is perfect for an On The Road-inspired jaunt. And if you happen to be hitting the road because you have tickets to a music festival, make sure you pick up Free People’s Embellished Dress ($98). It is part hippie, part rock and roll, which is the perfect combination for a girl who wants to dance the day (and night) away!

If you are staying home this summer, but planning adventures with your friends, we have a slew of options for you too. For a Saturday morning coffee date with your best girlfriends, we think T By Alexander Wang’s Jersey T-Shirt Dress ($85) is a perfect pick. It is casual and chic, plus it would work with sandals, chunky boots, or just a simple pair of ballet flats. If your weekend plans include a pool party or a barbecue, Forever 21’s Colorful Maxi Dress ($24.80) checks all the right boxes. Easy, breezy vibe? Check! Bright pop of color? Check! Playful print? Check! Finally, if you are planning a Memorial Day soiree, we love BB Dakota’s Sabrah Mesh Dress ($75). It has a flirty charm and can be dressed up or down. Who doesn’t like versatility?

If your calendar is filling up with work events, make sure to set aside some space in your budget for office-appropriate dresses. If you are heading out for drinks after work, we like American Vintage’s Belted Mini Dress ($100). It can be worn with a chic blazer and heels in the office, and then transformed into a cute cocktail dress at night. If you have a major industry event to attend, be sure to pick up a chic party dress like ASOS’s Shift Dress ($73.86). The classic silhouette nicely balances the bright color. On that note, happy guilt-free shopping!
