Under $100: Summer Sandals

Oh, summer! Now that sweltering days and balmy nights have officially arrived, you are probably envisioning a low-key approach to fashion—think: breezy dresses and colorful sandals. If, however, your budget is balking at the thought of shelling out cash on a closet full of new buys, have no fear! We have scouted out a cornucopia of colorful summer sandals and we’re pleased to report that they are all priced under $100. Yes, dear readers, no matter what your style or budget, there is sure to be something you just have to have! Read on!

As you know, there has been an influx of 1970s-inspired fashion this season. If you find yourself leaning in that direction this summer, make sure you check out ASOS’s Fran Suede Tassel Sandals ($68.96). They have a fun hippie vibe that is perfect if you have tickets to a festival or you are heading off on a cross-country road trip and they would look great with a colorful sun dress. We also like MIA’s Tigris Beaded Sandals ($78). These sandals have a luxe bohemian aesthetic that evokes fashion icons like Talitha Getty and Anita Pallenberg, which is perfect if you want to try the 1970s trend! Then again, perhaps you have a preppy side just yearning to come out this summer. If so, be sure to take a look at Steve Madden’s Paiigge Sandals ($55.95) and Nine West’s Makaia Sandals ($35.40). We love the heavy dose of color, plus we think they would look amazing when paired with a little white tennis dress or a pair of cropped jeans and a simple tee.

Of course, you may find that you want to add a little edge to your closet this summer. If that is the case, we think you should start with Vince Camuto’s Kolby Army Sandals ($79.99). They have a tough element, which makes them perfect for pairing with distressed denim or a studded dress, but they don’t cross the line from stylish to scruffy! If you really want to go wild, you could also check out Sam Edelman’s Grenna Gladiator Sandals ($100). For starters, leopard print is always chic. Plus, these sandals have a cool safari vibe, which is always a fun theme to play around with. On the other hand, you may prefer to pick out something sophisticated, especially if you have some cocktail parties or summer weddings to attend this season. If so, we suggest you take a look at Topshop’s Frey Orange T-Bar Sandals ($80). We love the contrast between the gold and the orange fabric. Plus, although they do have a pop of color, it isn’t bright and so these sandals won’t steal focus from the rest of your outfit. If, however, you do want something more neutral, you can always pick up Miss Me’s Leon 2 Sandals ($39). The hint of gold will add just the right amount of zing to your summer ensemble! Happy shopping!
