Life has been quite a journey for New York-based designer Prabal Gurung. He was born in Singapore and raised in Nepal. He studied fashion in India, before apprenticing in Australian and England. He arrived in America in 1999 and, since then, has made quite a name for himself in the world of fashion—his designs have appears on Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Demi Moore, and Zoe Saldana, to name just a few. It is, perhaps, because of this journey, that the USA Network is honoring Prabal in the 3rd annual Character Approved Awards, which recognize innovation and cultural contributions. Watch the special video inside to see Prabal discuss his journey and make sure you tune in to the USA Network at 11pm EST on Tuesday, March 8, to see Prabal receive his award.
