Gorgeous Aussie model Abbey Lee Kershaw – who I am slightly obsessed with at the moment – is the cover star of Vogue Australia’s March issue. Abbey Lee also appears inside the magazine in an editorial titled ‘The Life Aquatic” that was shot by photographer Max Doyle.
The cover and the editorial were both heavily inspired by the surfer chic look, a big trend for Spring 2010. “It’s fantastic that we could come straight back to Australia with one of the top models in the world,” says Vogue Australia’s editor-in-chief, Kirstie Clements. “It was even better that one of the world’s most iconic beaches is only 20 minutes from the office. This just had to be photographed at Bondi.”
Abbey Lee perfectly encapsulates that cool, laidback surfer-chic style that Australian girls are known for. It doesn’t hurt that her hair is dip-dyed in pink, giving us the first taste of what might be another huge hair trend in 2010.
“The results are raw, sexy and have a strong Australian feel,” Clements adds. Do you agree?
