What Are Your Fashion & Style Resolutions For 2011?

New year, new you? Whether you believe in New Year’s resolutions or not, the new year is always a great time to look back on what you have achieved and then refresh your style, revamp your beauty regime, or overhaul your entire fashion plan. So, the question is: what do you want to achieve in 2011 when it comes to fashion and style? Perhaps you want to clean out your closet and start from scratch? Maybe you’d like to infuse your wardrobe with eco-friendly pieces? Or perhaps you’d like to resolve to only wear colors and banish black for the year? Whichever direction you are heading in, we’d love to hear your fashion and style resolutions for 2011! Check out Mama’s A Rolling Stone’s fashion and style resolutions for the coming year below, and let us know your plans in the comments section!

1. Be more colorful: Bold and bright colors were all over the spring runways. We’re planning to infuse our wardrobe with colorful shades and neon hues (à la Proenza Schouler’s spring show) this summer.

2. Scale back a notch: Here at Mama’s A Rolling Stone, we believe a good closet has a balanced mix of basics and on-trend pieces. We’re planning to weed out the never-worn items in our closet, add a heavy dose of basics such as plain tees and blue denim, and then only buy a few on-trend pieces each season.

3. Accessorize: Accessories are the key ingredient in a perfect outfit. This year, we’re planning on buying fewer clothes and more accessories. Not only are they usually more affordable, they are nearly always more fun!

I need to start wearing more high heels as since moving to California I have been wearing flats way too much! Need to dust off those heels and get them moving past the front door, they deserve to be worn!

This year I need to start wearing more eco-friendly designers and support sustainable industries! Plus new textiles like lyocell are so super soft and drapey, polyester is never flattering!
