Rukshan Mistry-Sheasby is the mastermind behind Bonconseil.us—a popular, culturally focused style blog that just recently launched. “I think of it as a celebration of everything beautiful, inspirational and creative for women of all ages and walks of life,” she says. “I try to take my readers on a light-hearted, around-the-world journey, looking closely at different forms of fashion, beauty, travel, décor, food…I could go on and on. Essentially, my intention is to feature things that provide pleasure in life, which is often different depending upon the culture.”
We asked Rukshan what beauty items provide her with pleasure, and she gladly shared her must-have makeup products.
“This mist packs a punch and is perfect for my purse. The compact spritz gives my skin a nice pick-me up as well as a gorgeous, dewy glow. “
“They call it a ‘stroke of genius’ and I agree. This stick is easy to apply on the go, flattering for all skin-colors, and never flakes or fades.”
“A friend introduced me to By Terry’s Baume de Rose. It is truly intense moisture and it smells divine. Now there’s always one in my purse, my car, or on my nightstand.”
“My Indian oily skin, combined with the intense Southern California sun, makes blotting papers a must! I love the stylish look of Paul & Joe—I smile every time I pull them out. “
“For years I’ve searched for a mascara that did not slick off after two or three hours to create a lustrous black halo around my eyes. I’ve tried some top-of-the-line, expensive brands, but now I stick to this one from L’Oréal. It’s the only mascara that stays completely put until I decide to take it off myself.”
