Delicate white lace, faded denim, draped silhouettes and chunky leather sandals; all these elements instantly call to mind the perfect summer wardrobe and are right at home in Zara’s June 2010 lookbook. While the earthy color palette and styling is consistent with Zara’s spring lookbooks, the Spanish retailer has mixed in plenty of summer elements – think clogs, ethnic-inspired embroidery and oversized kaftan-style dresses – for a fresh twist; in contrast, Zara has also offered a hint as to its fall direction, with knit ankle socks, draped harem pants and boyfriend blazers.
If you’re still focusing on summer, however, there is plenty to choose from. Shorts made from pale cotton or white lace are loosely layered under tanks and tees, while dresses in bright white and sienna brown are belted casually at the waist. Accessories in the collection include leather cross-body bags, long fabric belts, oversized bow headbands and thin scarves in various prints. All in all, we see a perfect series of separates that would make great additions to your summer closet. Will you be searching out Zara’s summer collection?
