Sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann have been creating strong and sophisticated swimwear since 1991; suffice to say, they know what they’re doing – so much so that the Australian label has become synonymous with Sydney’s sunkissed style and energetic aesthetic. For the brand’s Cruiss 2011 lookbook, the duo channeled their luxe-glam vision into a striking array of images featuring Australian models Nicole Trunfio and Lisa Seiffert.
For Cruise 2011, Zimmermann opted for plenty of chic prints (think tie-dye, dark florals and paint-splattered, Jackson Pollock-esque patterns) and then infused the collection with a smattering of alluring solids (dusky reds, metallic bronzes and neon yellows). While the silhouettes seemingly take inspiration from curvy, 1950s designs, the creations are overtly modern; high-waist bikini bottoms are embellished with oversized buckle belts, while a curvey bandeau one-piece is adorned with layers of feminine ruffles. Once again, Zimmermann shows us why they’re the leaders in must-have swimwear.
