If, come January, you find the dreary gray days have left you feeling despondent, head to your nearest Chanel beauty counter and pick up the brand’s spring makeup collection. The collection is inspired by Coco Chanel’s belief that “the light-reflecting property of pearls enhanced a woman’s natural beauty bringing a delicate luminosity to her skin.” In other words, you’ll find pearly shades of black and white, and accents of pink and coral, all of which brighten the skin and create a natural, unfussy glow. The highlight of the collection will undoubtedly be the Le Vernis nail colors. The collection includes three polishes: Pearl Drop, a lustrous white; Peche Nacree, a blushing peach; and, Black Pearl, a glowing black. The entire Chanel Spring 2011 Makeup Collection will be available at Chanel beauty counters, as well as online at Chanel.com, in January. Prices range from $23 for a nail polish to $65 for a limited edition eyeshadow palette.
