Rachel Zoe might call Hollywood home but she grew up on the east coast; consequently, she knows the seasonal benefits of a luxe faux fur coat or an oversized shearling vest. Case in point: Rachel’s second fall collection for QVC, which she revealed earlier this week in New York, is teeming with super-chic outerwear in “classic colors,” including a sequin-embellished tweed vest “inspired by the design and tailoring of Chanel.”
While outerwear is high on the agenda, Rachel’s bohemian-luxe vibe (“I’m thinking Saint-Tropez glamour and Stevie Nicks,” she told WWD) certainly shines through elsewhere; long, layered maxi dresses, bellbottom jeans, silky shirt dresses and opulent harem pants all make an appearance. Of course, the collection wouldn’t be complete without a smattering of plush accessories. Expect plenty of oversized leather and suede handbags (adorned with Rachel’s initials), retro costume jewelry and jumbo cocktail rings, draped necklaces, printed knit scarves and, of course, Rachel’s signature movie-star sunglasses.
While scarves and jewelry will hit QVC.com in the next few weeks, the majority of the Fall 2010 collection arrives in September. Bonus: each piece retails for under $200.
On a side note, we reported last week that Rachel had teamed up with friend and shoe designer Brian Atwood on a pair of over-the-knee, platform suede boots. Yesterday, Rachel gave her Twitter followers a sneak peek at her design (above), revealing a neutral color palette and chain detail embellishments. The boots are expected to retail for around $3,000 when they hit stores in June.
