Zac Posen is the latest designer to sign on to design a line for Target’s Go International brand. The news comes just weeks after Posen announced his new, lower-priced line, Z Spoke, which will be exclusive to Saks Fifth Avenue. In recent months, his label also cut the position of vice president of communications, prompting rumors of financial problems.
Zac Posen’s line for Target will be released on April 25, 2010. It is not Posen’s first collaboration with the Target corporation. For Fall 2008, Posen designed a one-off line for Target Australia that was not available to the rest of the world. The line featured an array of gowns and mini dresses.
The Go International brand focuses on creating apparel and accessories for women that are reasonably priced. Each season is created by a different designer who is already known for their high-end collections.
In the past, designers for Go International have included Proenza Schouler and Anna Sui. Rodarte’s much-anticipated collection for Target is set to hit stores later this month and hype has been building for their collection for weeks now.
Price points have not yet been released for Posen’s collaboration with Target but previous lines have been priced between $14.99 and $150.
